Oakland Beer Crawl Stop #3 Original Pattern Brewing

This large brick building in the former industrial section of the Port of Oakland on the edge of Jack London as you creep into downtown off 4th St is uniquely built. When I met Max the owner he explained that the high ceiling is what drew him to the space .With it's vintage redwood arches in the rafters, brick exsterior, and rod iron fenced patio. This unassuming building make some of the best brew being made in Oakland.

Original Pattern makes great beer , my favorite is the Saisonatte, which is a Belgian brew, my next fav is the Golden Ratio , this 10.6 % was tasty and very enjoyable. All of their ingredients are local sourced and they are very proud to be one of the few breweries in Oakland to make that claim. Currently Original Pattern is home to a pop up Good Eat Dumplings. I had the Surf n Turf Dumping bowl.Great tasting fresh dumplings with a zesty broth, and awesome fire hot sauce. Jamual ordered the Chicken Basil pot stickers , they are thi inspired so a longer shaped pot sticker, the taste is majestic.

All I can say about the staff is ask for Livingston, in my years of working in the service industry I put this young man in the top 5%. Knowledge of product, keen eye to a customers needs and a friendly smile is so important . OP is a great addition to the Oakland Beer Crawl.

Beautiful room
